Finished primary bathroom with a freestanding tub beside a frameless glass shower, pale stone-look porcelain, an oak double vanity and brass fixtures (a rendering of the finished look, not a job photo)

Bathroom remodel in Boca Raton, FL.

Half of Boca was built in the 1970s and 80s, and a quarter of its residents are over 65. I remodel those bathrooms at a written fixed price, about 35 minutes up the Turnpike.

Boca houses, and what's different

The houses themselves are a country-club era story: more than half the city was built in the 1970s and 80s (Census ACS 2024), when Arvida was laying out Boca West and the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club neighborhoods, and about a third of all units are in buildings of 20 or more.

  • East Boca: Old Floresta, the city's first historic district, with Mizner-era 1920s homes; Boca Square and Boca Villas, older subdivisions where the city is replacing water, sewer and stormwater pipes under its iSIP program.
  • West Boca: Boca West's 1970s and 80s villages, Century Village's 1979 55-plus condos, Long Lake Estates' acre lots.
  • Smallest households of any city I work in, 2.26 people, and the oldest: nearly a quarter of residents are 65 or over. The accessible bathroom is a daily request here.
  • Water hardness is published: 3.8 to 4.7 grains, harder than most of Broward, which argues for a squeegee on every frameless door.

Condo baths and recertification

It doesn't touch a bathroom job, but it's why east-side building managers are careful about contractors in the building.

Flood zones, with a 25 percent discount

A large portion of Boca Raton lies in a Special Flood Hazard Area by the city's own description, on FEMA maps adopted in December 2024.

The city's improved CRS class raised the flood-insurance discount from 15 to 25 percent in October 2025 for policies in all zones. For a bathroom remodel the practical effect is the 50 percent substantial-improvement rule, which the city checks against cumulative work and the building's value; if you're renovating the whole house in stages, the floodplain manager at 561-393-7845 can tell you where you stand.

The east-side infrastructure program

If you're in Boca Square, Boca Villas, Lake Floresta or Old Floresta, the city's iSIP program is replacing underground water, sewer and stormwater lines chosen by pipe material, age and failure risk, with a $20 million bid covering the Floresta neighborhoods in 2026. It's good news for a bathroom: the city is fixing the main under the street, and the plumber only has to worry about the line from your house to it. I'll check whether your street is in a phase before we schedule a drain change.

Boca Raton questions

Something else on your mind? Call or text (954) 242-5924.

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Boca Raton?

The same ranges I quote in Broward: $6,500 to $11,000 for a tiled tub-to-shower conversion, $14,000 to $28,000 for a full remodel, $28,000 to $55,000 or more for a primary suite with a new layout.

Do you really come up to Boca from Plantation?

For a full bathroom, a conversion or a walk-in shower, yes, about 35 minutes up the Turnpike, and the estimate visit is free. For a single handyman item, no; I'll say so on the phone.

Do you handle permits?

Yes, we can help with permits. Ask us about your job when we come to look.

I'm in a Boca West village. Who approves the work?

Your village association and the master; their documents cover insurance, hours and access, and I follow them.

Is Boca water hard on shower glass?

Harder than most of Broward: the city publishes 3.8 to 4.7 grains. Frameless glass stays clear with a squeegee after each shower and a monthly vinegar wipe, and I'll show you on the walkthrough.

Does the hurricane zone change a bathroom window?

Boca is outside the High Velocity Hurricane Zone, which is Miami-Dade and Broward only, so a replacement bathroom window uses standard Florida product approvals for the wind-borne debris region.
