Remodel readiness quiz.

Seven questions, one at a time, about the decisions a remodel needs before it starts: scope, finishes, the quote, the budget, living arrangements, access rules and timing. At the end you get a planning score and a checklist of what's still open, each with the page that helps.

JavaScript is off here, so all seven questions show at once and the checklist does not build itself. Each question's "to do" is listed below the quiz.

1. Scope

Do you know exactly what's changing?

2. Finishes

Have you picked the tile, the fixtures and the vanity?

3. Quote

What kind of quote do you have?

4. Budget

Is the budget set, with a reserve for surprises?

5. Living

During the job, where will you shower, park and keep the dog?

6. Access

If there's an HOA or a condo board, are its rules in hand?

7. Timing

When do you want it done?

Pick one to continue.

How the score works

Each question has three answers worth two, one or zero points.

Fourteen is fully planned.

  • Planning score = your points ÷ 14, as a percentage
  • 85% and up: ready to get a written number
  • 50 to 84%: close, with a few decisions to make first
  • Under 50%: early days; start with the scope and the budget
  • Every answer under two points becomes a checklist line with the page that helps

The seven decisions

The questions are the ones Brad asks on the first call, in the order they matter.

Scope first, because everything else is priced from it. Finishes second, because the lead times start when you pick. Then the quote, the budget and a reserve, where you'll shower for two weeks, what the HOA or the condo board requires, and when you need it done.

  • Scope: what changes and what stays, in writing
  • Finishes: tile, valve and trim, vanity, glass, with model numbers
  • Quote: a written, itemized fixed price, not a verbal number
  • Budget: the number plus a 10 to 20 percent reserve
  • Living: the second bathroom, parking, the dog, a cleared path
  • Access: HOA or board rules on hours, elevators and insurance
  • Timing: a window, a date, or a hard deadline

What to do with the checklist

Copy it and work down it.

The scope and the finishes are yours to decide; the quote and the schedule are ours to write. Most people arrive with three or four open items, which is normal: the free visit is where most of them close, because Brad measures, looks at the plumbing and tells you what the choices really are.

If the score is low, don't wait to be ready before you call. Call to get ready; it's the same visit either way.

Questions about this tool

Something else on your mind? Call or text (954) 242-5924.

Do I need a perfect score before I ask for an estimate?

No. Most people call with several open items, and the free visit closes most of them. The quiz is for seeing what's open, not for passing.

Does the quiz send my answers anywhere?

No. Your answers stay in the browser tab and nothing is stored or sent. Our analytics only records that the quiz was used.

What if I have a hard deadline?

Say it on the first call. A deadline decides the start date and which finishes can make it in time; a hard date is workable when it's planned around from the start, and a problem when it appears mid-job. Reach Brad.
